SASS® Regulators are those folks who work above and beyond the call of duty for the direct benefit of SASS® and their affiliated club(s). They personify the “Cowboy Way” and provide an excellent role model for all shooters- young and old alike. SASS® Regulators don’t know the meaning of the word “no”. They are on the frontlines, doing the fieldwork of SASS®- promoting, shooting, working- essentially, “riding for the brand”. They have taken responsibility for growing new SASS® clubs in their communities and around the world. Their efforts are a direct benefit to SASS® as an organization and they have an impact far beyond the bounds of their home club. They are often ambassadors for the sport of Cowboy Action Shooting™ and Wild Bunch Action Shooting™- providing a shining example of what we mean by the term “Spirit of the Game”.
SASS Regulator Nominations
Potential SASS® Regulators are nominated by SASS® members or officials. The nomination letter submitted to SASS HQ for consideration should outline that the nomination is a consensus opinion- not just the feelings of a single individual. Nomination packets should include a detailed description of the nominee’s contributions to SASS, the sport of Cowboy Action Shooting™ and/or Wild Bunch Action Shooting™ and their local club(s). Supporting signatures of the nomination are commonplace. Successful candidates are recognized at END of TRAIL each year with a public acknowledgement of their contributions and presentation of the unique, personalized Regulator badge. All nominations submissions must be received by SASS® HQ by December 15th of each year.
