here are many reasons for a mounted shooting club to affiliate with SASS. There is the benefit of getting the club shooting calendar and contact point published in The Cowboy Chronicle and on the SASS Web Site and receiving the most extensive source of support in any shooting venue. But, more importantly, it is becoming part of SASS, a nationwide family whose membership exceeds 75,000 and is recognized as one of the most important shooting sport organizations in the world, that brings the most rewards.

By becoming a SASS Club Affiliate you will open doors of opportunity not only for your club but for the sport as a whole. The tremendous visibility you gain by appearing in The Cowboy Chronicle and on the Web Site allows potential new members to find you and join your growing club. SASS also brings you a world of resources, tried and true, that will help your club prosper and bring a real sense of organization and credibility to you and your members.

SASS provides a National Shooting Program and sanctions Club Monthly and Annual matches as well as State, Regional and National Championships and END of TRAIL, The World Championship of SASS Mounted Shooting. SASS Sponsors its sanctioned matches with prizes and provides Belt Buckles Awards for the overall winners of State Championships and above. SASS also provides a comprehensive points system that not only tracks the achievements of riders but also provides year end awards to all Division leaders and random drawings.

To become a SASS Mounted Shooting Affiliated Club, simply fill out the SASS Mounted Club Affiliation Registration Form and send it in to the SASS Clubs Administrator. We will help you from that point on.

SASS MOUNTED SHOOTING CLUB AFFILIATION GUIDELINES

SASS Mounted Shooting Club Affiliation is FREE
SASS affiliation runs from January through December. Clubs must renew their Affiliation annually. SASS will send renewal notices to all affiliated clubs during the month of December.

A SASS Affiliated Mounted Shooting Club is required to:

• Maintain no less than 50% of its membership in SASS. (This applies to only the "cowboy part" if part of a larger, multi-discipline shooting club. The 50% rule is waived the first year.)
• Conduct its matches in compliance with the SASS Mounted Shooters Handbook
• Have a regularly scheduled SASS Mounted Shooting program
• Respect all SASS aliases and shooter numbers at its matches
• Regularly provide SASS with copies of club newsletters and bulletins
• Provide a fully completed SASS Affiliate Club Registration form and renews annually
• Provide a schedule of match dates to SASS to be published on the SASS web site
• Provide proof of $1,000,000 public liability insurance for the coming year naming SASS as additionally insured (US organizations only)
