Some of the nation's most recognized Western Performers will grace the Royale Pavilion Stage daily. Relax in the stage courtyard and have a cool drink while you listen to traditional Western music and witness some of the top performers in the industry.

Juni Fisher

Western Music Association 2006 Female Vocalist of the Year, AWA 2005 Female Western Performer of the Year, and WMA 2005 Crescendo Award winner Juni Fisher has been likened to movie director John Ford for her sweeping, epic story songs, to Stanley Kubrick for her stark, raw edged vignettes of the history of the American West, and to Folk Music icons Ian Tyson and Tom Russell for hard hitting, soulful lyrics. Her straightforward, on the mark vocals give voice to the soul of this remarkable songwriter.

Traditional folk music blends seamlessly with her songs of the American West, and many a listener has been moved by her unmistakably original music. Captivating performances, filled with essential marriage of crystalline guitar passages, and heart wrenching delivery are what Juni Fisher does best. It has been said that "Juni's music is part angelic, part devilish, and inspired from deep within her soul. Her voice is simply pure and beautiful, with no gimmicks. However, her best God-given talent is the ability to tell a poignant story that moves you down to your inner core.”

Syd Masters & The Swing Riders
Syd Masters & The Swing Riders are a talented and humorous musical group specializing in what Syd refers to as Vintage Western Cowboy Swing! Recently they received the 2004 "Best Humorous Song" award for the track "My Dog," as well as the 2003 "Country Song of the Year" MIC Award for Syd's original tune, "Out In The Country." Other accomplishments include winning the Western Music Association "Best Western Swing Band" international nomination during each of the last three years, as well as wrangling in the New Mexico Music Industry's "Best Vocal Performance" award for singing and yodeling on recorded works. The boys can also be seen on television and on posters throughout the West as the new "Singing Cowboys" for the Powerball Lottery advertising campaign. Alibi Music magazine named "Cowboys on the Moon" one of its top ten best albums for 2003. This CD, which was nominated for best album by The Western Music Association, The Academy of Western Artists, and the New Mexico Music Industry, features all original music and is played on the air in at least 15 countries around the world!

Syd's rich lead vocals and unique brand of unspoiled rhythm guitar are complimented by the accomplished finger picking of multi-instrumentalist Uncle Bob, along with the flamboyant humor and bunkhouse bass stylings of "America's Cowboy Heart Throb," Slim J. The band has been gaining recent notoriety while performing on stage as opening act and band for Country Western Superstar Lynn Anderson.

Bill Barwick
Winner of the 2005 Will Rogers Cowboy Award for Western Music "Male Vocalist of the Year" from the Academy of Western Artists, listening to Bill Barwick weave his tales can transport you right back down the trail. You can almost hear the leather of his saddle creak. Hailed as a cowboy's cowboy-song singer and accompanied by superb guitar work, Bill's singing, songwriting and storytelling are a performance not to be missed! Not surprisingly, he's one of modern media's most recognized voices. He can be heard (and occasionally even seen) worldwide via satellite and cable TV, on Starz/Encore's Westerns Channel. As an industrial narrator, he has a corporate client list that reads like a "Who's Who" of American business. Then, there are all those local television and radio commercials he's done.

No matter where you're from, you've heard Bill Barwick. Believe it or not, he's also the voice of a life-sized, singing and talking buffalo head in a store at Denver International Airport. A talented entertainer, he can usually be found on any given Saturday night, when he's not on the road, at one of the west's best-known cowboy venues --Denver's historic Buckhorn Exchange -- with his long-time saddle-pal, autoharp artist extraordinaire, and musical archivist, Roz Brown. He's also a returning guest at distinguished venues like the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas, and the Colorado Cowboy Poetry Gathering at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities. He's a member of both the Academy of Western Artists and the Western Music Association.

miss DEVON DAWSON
Devon Dawson, known as “Miss Devon” (SASS #49096) of Fort Worth, Texas, has garnered top nominations nationally as “Female Performer of the Year” and “ Songwriter of the year” by The Western Music Association and The Academy of Western Artists. A founding member of the award winning cowboy swing group, “The Texas Trailhands”, Miss Devon’s vocals and lively guitar strumming brings to mind ‘swing time cowgirls’ like Patsy Montana, Rosalie Allen, and Dale Evans. She is also known as the singin’, yodelin’, voice of “Jessie the Yodelin’ Cowgirl”, of Toy Story 2 fame, as heard on the Grammy–winning CD, Woody’s Roundup featuring Riders in the Sky, released by Walt Disney Records. In the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Devon makes personal appearances as “Jessie” from Radio Disney, Imagination Celebration, National Cowgirl Hall of Fame, and occasionally joins Riders In the Sky onstage, as she did in March 2001, when she appeared on the Grand Old Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.
Joe Bowman
What do Hollywood legends and Kings and Queens from around the world have in common with real-life heroes like astronauts, cosmonauts, Texas Rangers, S.W.A.T. Teams and the U.S. Marines?
. . They have all crossed paths with JOE BOWMAN . .
JOE BOWMAN is a slice of the ‘OLD WEST’ come to life . . . a fast drawing, Straight Shootin’ larger-than-life TEXAN, who is one of the best men anywhere with a gun.
“When the “Legend” is bigger than the man, print the “Legend;” when the “Legend and the Man” parallel, it’s all the same.
Twice nominated for “The American Outstanding Handgunner Award”–Combat Infantry Badge–Four Battle Stars–Bronze Stars–Purple Heart–carries a special Texas Ranger Badge presented by a Governor of Texas and appointed “Ambassador of Goodwill” for the State of Texas by four different Governors.
. . . . The List Goes On . . . .
Joe has been on longhorn cattle drives and served as gun coach for movie and TV westerns. Roy Rogers commissioned him to make two different pairs of his famous “BOOTS of ROSES” with sterling silver and gold trim; he’s made gun leather for Johnny Mack Brown, Jock Mahoney (a famous actor and stuntman) and Sammy Davis, Jr. Sammy bought two pair of Joe’s famous customized RUGER single action pistols. Robert Duval engaged Joe’s shooting and western knowledge for his renown role as “Gus” in LONESOME DOVE.
. . . . The List Goes On . . . .
Mr. Bill Ruger, Sr. had his son, Tom, contact Joe to request that he do the Highly Acclaimed National Safety T.V. an-nouncement for the RUGER SINGLE ACTION SIX SHOO-TER. Joe has found the RUGER pistols to be the stron-gest, sa-fest and the most reli-able pistol in the mar-ket place.

DAVE BOURNE
Dave Bourne has been playing piano professionally since his first job in the Calico Saloon at Knott’s Berry Farm in 1958. He is a graduate of USC with a degree in Music Education. He has played bass and recorded with the “Wagonmasters”, the cowboy group who entertained in the Wagon Camp at Knott’s from 1955 until 1968. He has released three albums playing cornet with his own “Dawn of the Century Ragtime Orchestra” and three cassettes playing guitar with his own western singing group, the “Lobo Rangers”. His latest CD series, “Saloon Piano” I, II, and III, feature melodies from 1845 to 1910.

Dave performed at End of Trail with his western singing group, “The Lobo Rangers” from 1993 through 1996. For the past five years he has been the regular saloon piano player at the Belle Union Saloon and Gambling Emporium. Dave a.k.a. Lobo Ranger is a mounted shooter and a member of the California Desperados.

Mike Moutoux
Mike Moutoux has entertained audiences at ranches and festivals across the U.S. with his own blend of music and poetry and has quickly become an audience favorite. Calling himself, “New Mexico’s most enchanting cowboy,”he says, “The poems and songs give me a chance to take people to a place or a feeling they may not know any other way; to take their imaginations on a ride. If we can share a laugh or two along the way, that’s even better.”Mike makes his home in Grant County, New Mexico where he works on a 13,000-acre cattle ranch. At the JEJ ranch, most work is still done on horseback using traditional methods. Mike has been entertaining since 2002 and recently produced his third CD, Headin Home. In 2006, he was nominated for male poet of the year in the Western Music Association and performed at their festival in Albuquerque.

Mike has performed at ranches, schools and festivals in a number of states including Rex Allen Days in Willcox Arizona; Cowboy Days in Las Cruces, New Mexico; The Arizona Cowboy Poets Gathering in Prescott, Arizona; the Cochise Cowboy Poetry and Music Gathering in Sierra Vista, Arizona, and at the Durango Cowboy Gathering in Durango, Colorado.

Dave Stamey
Dave Stamey has been bucked off and stomped by many horses, stepped on by mules and dragged around branding pens by angry cattle of various sizes. He's ridden in the rain, in the snow, in the rain some more, in pretty nasty heat, and in feedlot pens where the air was thick and decidedly fragrant. He's even wrangled dudes.

He's an entertainer now. He finds he prefers this.

He's been awarded the Male Performer of the Year by the Western Music Association, is a three time nominee for Songwriter of the Year, and is rapidly becoming one of the most popular Western entertainers working today.

Some of the folks Dave has played for include:
The Autry Museum of Western Heritage, The Elko Cowboy Poetry Gathering, The Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival, The Live Oak Festival, The Strawberry Folk Festival, Michael Martin Murphy's WestFest, The Nashville Extravaganza, The National Cattleman's Beef Association, and The Durango Cowboy Poetry Gathering.

Dave lives in Nipomo California with his wife and partner Melissa, several horses, cats and dogs.

RIVER CROSSING, INC.
Miss Tabitha and Mad Mountain Mike have 43 years of combined experience in historical research and re-enactment. Mad Mountain Mike’s work has been featured in museums, movies and galleries across the country and in Europe, while Miss Tabitha has focused on historic dance and fashion. Their partnership enables them to cover many eras and topics, ranging from the Revolutionary War to modern day, with a special focus on the American Old West. Mad Mountain Mike and Miss Tabitha enjoy presenting history in an entertaining as well as educational style.

Thursday and Friday morning, enjoy a unique presentation as Miss Tabitha demonstrates for you how a Victorian lady would have dressed from the “inside out”. Beginning with chemise and bloomers, she adds corset, petticoat, bustle, and on and on until at last she is attired in her final outfit -- “properly and decently” dressed to appear in public, not forgetting her headpiece and correct accessories. As each piece is added, she shares entertaining and historical anecdotes about the clothing of the Victorian era. This is a delightfully educational program you won’t want to miss!

In preparation for Saturday night’s Cattle Baron's Ball, on Thursday and Friday afternoon Miss Tabitha will present a lesson on dances of the Victorian era, such as the Grand March, Virginia Reel, and Quadrilles. Topics such as fan flirtations, bows and curtsies, escorting your lady and managing the train of a gown will also be covered. Miss Tabitha has been researching and teaching old-time dance for over 15 years, and she specializes in adapting historic dances for modern-day folks. All dances will be taught, and no previous experience is necessary. Not a stuffy class, you will be pleasantly surprised at the simplicity of many of these elegant dances. Ladies attending are encouraged to bring their trained or bustled petticoat or skirt in which to practice.

On Saturday only, Miss Tabitha and Mad Mountain Mike are pleased to once again present their Old West & Victorian Fashion Show tailored especially for SASS shooters! Practical, beautiful, historical, fanciful – you’ll find it all featured here in a wide range of Wild West, Native American, Victorian and B-Western styles. Miss Tabitha and Mad Mountain Mike provide a historical and humorous commentary with each outfit, giving “inside information” of value to costume buffs and SASS members alike. Don’t miss it!
